Volunteer

GR!BNE aims to bring young emerging musicians together with mentors to develop skills and confidence in music while learning to take pride in their accomplishments.

Be part of GR!BNE and help young girls write songs and find their voice! We have a range of direct mentorship and indirect mentorship volunteer opportunities available.

Every volunteer must:

  • be 18 years or older
  • hold a current Blue Card (or be willing to acquire one – we can assist you with this)
  • be interviewed by the Volunteer Coordinator (either in person or via Skype)

Please note GR!BNE is run by volunteers. We are hoping to secure a grant that will allow us to pay our hard-working volunteers a stipend (to cover travel costs and incidentals).

Direct Mentorship Roles

Direct Mentorship positions are open to individuals who self-identify as female, trans* (regardless of identity), or gender non-conforming.

Instrument Instructor (musical experience required; teaching experience beneficial): Instrument Instructors teach our campers their chosen instrument of either guitar, bass, drums or vocals. Campers possess a range of skill levels – some have never picked up an instrument, while others have been playing for years. Instructors teach small groups of 5-10 campers, and are responsible for working with other instructors to plan lessons, teach instruments and create a supportive learning environment.
